Oral Sedation in Hutchinson
About Oral Sedation
If you have been postponing your dental visits because of fear, anxiety or stress, there is a solution that allows you to accomplish all your dental needs in as little as one appointment. Hutchinson dentist Dr. Ringler offers patients the option of choosing oral sedation, a safe and effective sedation method that involves administering a mild oral sedative in combination with nitrous oxide.
Oral sedation dentistry has been used safely for over 30 years for millions of dental procedures, and Dr. Ringler is trained in the practice of administering and monitoring oral sedation. Our office will carefully review your medical history and explain how sedation dentistry can work for you. We want you to feel confident about your decision, and we are here to answer any questions and address any concerns you may have.
On the day of your appointment, you’ll swallow a small pill and then a companion will bring you to the office. After the sedative begins to work, an assistant will help you get comfortable in the dental chair and will remain by your side monitor throughout the entirety of your procedure to answer your questions and monitor your comfort. Many of our patients feel no discomfort whatsoever during and after their treatment, and have little or no memory of their visit to our office. A friend or family member will drive you home from the appointment and when you wake the next morning, the sedative will have subsided.
If you have been putting off years of dental work, sedation dentistry can change your life. You no longer have to be afraid of the dentist, and we know that you will enjoy the benefits of a stronger, healthier, more brilliant smile.
When you choose sedation dentistry, we can complete most of your dental patient services at one time. One of the greatest benefits of sedation dentistry is that we can do extended treatments in a couple of appointments for problems such as:
- Whitening yellow or stained teeth
- Fixing chipped or damaged teeth
- Restoring sore gums to good health
- Replacing crowns or dentures
